next week is a big week ~ lela will be 6 months, i'll be 372, and brant will be 376! :) we're heading on vacation to celebrate. we should be venturing into 60 degree weather, so in comparison to what we've been experiencing in michigan and germany, it's going to feel amazing.
since i've been using this blog to note lela happenings, i'm going to go back to the first 3 months and mark some milestones and other funny happenings (just for us to remember)...
9/5 ~ lela is born, lifts her head up while laying on her belly
9/7 ~ 1st bath at hospital

10/5 ~ lela is one month old!
10/10 ~ discovers her hand
10/18 ~ responds to smiles
10/21 ~ 1st laugh!
10/22 ~ she sleeps 6 hours!
10/28 ~ pushes her pacifier back in her mouth with other hand
11/2 ~ starts squealing
11/5 ~ lela is two months old!
11/9 ~ sleeps through the night from 10:30pm to 7am
11/21 ~ holds burp cloth, pulls on clothes, blanket
11/28 ~ 1st night in her own room - i cried
11/29 ~ grabs for toys
12/1 ~ uncontrollable laughter
12/5 ~ lela is three months old!
12/9 ~ reaches out for toys above her
12/10 ~ iceberg from above front door fell in lela's carseat, she took it in stride, with little icicles hanging from her eyelashes
12/12 ~ starts thumb sucking
12/27 ~ slept 11 hours at night
she's a ball of energy lately. grabbing for everything, socializing (doesn't like to miss a beat...especially when nursing if she doesn't have silence she's peeking her head out to see what's going on), putting everything in her mouth, belly laughing at the same thing over and over again, smiling like granny clampett, playing with toys for extended periods of time, prefers standing on her feet to sitting, just started flipping back to belly on a regular basis (started 2/25) and waking up terrified when she does this while sleeping, loves cuddling into your neck, when angry yelling "da da da da da", sitting in her baby chair, reading books and helping flip the page, and despite the trip across the pond, has adjusted to life back in germany really well. she slept for 7 out of 8 hours on the flight and the first hour she was just talking loudly to the whole plane. i was nervous that that would continue the whole flight, but thankfully, she got sleepy and drifted into dreamland. she has been waking once a night since we got back, but otherwise sleeping from 8-9pm to 7-8am and taking a 2+ hour morning nap, a 2 hour afternoon nap, and a 1 hour evening nap. what a change from being in the states! she must have just been longing for her own room and crib. i guess she just needs her personal space.
here is princess peach in her glory the past couple of weeks:

She is such a doll :D
She is just as cute as ever! I can't believe she is almost 6 months (I also can't believe I have a 1 year old!) I am so impressed with your chronicle of her life! Doesn't every day just get better!
