we had our 24 week OB appointment this week and everything went well....baby's heartbeat still at 155 bpm and my belly grew a few centimeters. at our 28 week appointment in june, also our last appointment before heading to germany, we'll go over my glucose test (which i take before memorial day) and an ultrasound (also right before memorial day) checking on my amniotic fluid. since my last ultrasound, i have drank no less than one gallon of water every day and let me tell you....this baby is a drinker! i'm never fully hydrated until after i finish my last 32 ounces... i may up my intake to a gallon and a half this summer per my midwife's suggestion. the extra hydration keeps the baby unbelievably active. i'm obsessed with watching it move! sometimes i wonder if she/he is reorganizing her/his room in there, fighting with a twin we haven't noticed yet, running laps, practicing martial arts to defend itself on the streets of orenhofen (where we'll be living), i don't know, but if you've ever seen or heard of parkour...i think we may have a baby that's already practicing for it...
here i am, all popped out!
p.s. i also had my first prenatal massage this week and it was heaven. the masseuse is also a doula and she showed me how to move the baby if it starts to hurt my ligaments by resting too much on one side...she also showed me it's shape in my belly and said that it is head down right now. the baby complied when she moved it from my right side to the center, but then after the massage, went right back to it's favorite spot. :)
You and your baby belly look so cute. I'm totally jealous about the prenatal massage, we have nothing like that here in Spain. They're not into naturopathy here in Spain, hopefully you'll have better luck in Germany. Wish we could live closer during this time together.
