surprise baby lunch!

i have to say that i have not enjoyed living in las vegas one bit, but one thing that has made these five months more tolerable is the awesome group of girls here. they are going through the same transient situation and can relate to the frustrations of living with almost nothing in an apartment for six months and not being able to find a job for that time as well. some of them will head back to the base they just came from after their husbands finish this schooling, but others will move somewhere new, like us. i wrote where they came from and where they are headed from here under the first picture below. anyway......we usually meet for lunch about once a week or every two weeks, but this week they surprised me (hence the reason i'm in running clothes) with a beautiful little baby celebration! i was so shocked...and i feel very blessed to have them here with me! the flowers are absolutely gorgeous and still in full bloom on our counter...the cupcakes were to die for and almost too pretty to eat....and they topped it off with a sweet card and gift card for brant and i. i think we may use it to get a baby carrier called the ergobaby. very exciting, i know. :)
