annie, estelle's 3k teacher, pulled me aside and said she had to tell me about something that happened in class that day. the kids were supposed to make zebras for the letter "z"....the materials were out and it was time to paint. annie told them, "ok, now you can paint the stripes on your zebras!" estelle heard her, looked around and saw everyone painting stripes, looked at her zebra....and gave it spots. black spots. :) annie was so happy! estelle (or her zebra) was not about to conform to zebra norms...
leaving tjmaxx one day, estelle was playing by the back end of the automatic sliding doors as i was putting our cart away. next thing i know, the door begins to open with estelle's arm lodged in between the panes of glass! as i'm watching this happen, i'm certain we are going to end up in the ER with a broken limb. the pain is showing in estelle's face and as i run to help loosen her arm, the doors break away... fall apart. apparently they are built with a safety mechanism in case just THIS happens...gaaaaa.. phew!!! she was slightly traumatized and also a wee excited to tell her sister what happened and how she survived. this same day, we went to a birthday pool party for lela's friend from school. estelle was tired and a bit upset that i forgot her swimsuit. she was walking next to the pool with her crazy "i'm tired" walk and fell in! i reached quickly and launched her up, but her clothes were SOAKED. she got scared right then and immediately peed herself. it just kept going! i ended up changing her into lela's dry clothes and lela had to wear her swimsuit for the whole party. :)
estelle whispered into my ear at breakfast..."i have to tell you something, mommy". i asked her what and she said, "i am in love with rj." rj is a little boy that goes to snack pack at trinity. he's four and estelle is three. she ended up telling brant the same. her first love.
